Calvin Adams, Jr. was born to Calvin Adams and Ethel Lou Pinchon Adams on December 10, 1956. His father preceded him in death. Calvin Adams, Jr. departed this life on February 14, 2014 at his home in Columbia, South Carolina. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship of Elder Roy Williams, Sr. Calvin served in the United States Army. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Calvin was a very likeable person. He will truly be missed. Calvin was united in holy matrimony to the late SSG. Jennie Smith Adams. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Ethel Lou Adams, New Market, AL; two sons, Marcus C. Hambrick, Huntsville, AL and 1st Lieutenant Antonio Adams (Tee' Ara), Fort Hood, TX; one daughter SSG. Lakeisha Adams Shorter (Omarr) Fort Lewis, WA; five grandchildren, Diamond Thompson, Huntsville, AL, Antonio X. Adams, Sean Dowell, Jasmine Adams, and Lola Adams, Fort Lewis, WA; three sisters, Essie Hardin, Nina Adams both of New Market, AL, and Diane Alexander of Harvest, AL; four brothers, Bill Adams (Tolesa) Huntsville, AL, Frankie Lee Adams, Harold Adams and Keith Darryl Adams of New Market, AL; one aunt, Lela Pinchon of New Market, AL; mother-in-law, Ernestine Smith of Jackson, MS, seven sisters-in-law, Josie B. Hughes, Lottie B. Erving, Mary B. Smith, Teresa (Richard) Buckley, Philis (James) Jacobs, MS; three brothers-in-law, David (Deborah) Ransom of Peoria, IL, Cleveland (Gloria) Smith, and James (Nora) Smith of Jackson, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mr. Calvin Adams, Jr. will be Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church (292 Cemetery Road - New Market, AL) with the Reverend Cornelius Adams officiating. Mr. Adams will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery (Deposit, AL).
