Antonmio was survived by his children: Paul Maestas (Viola), Charlie Maestas (Noreen), Dennis Maestas (Jane), Pancha Cata, Clara Trujillo (Martin), and Anthony and Edward Maestas; grandchildren: Paul (Victoria), Jesse (Sandra), Jimmy (Delilah), Carlos (Renee), Johnny, Dina (Mike), Tracy (Leonard), Shannon (Dave), Carlos, Melinda (Jake), Brenda, Jose Onesimo (Felisha), Naomi, Jonathan, Cynthia, Zac, Cecila, Jessica, Olibama, Amanda, Eddie, Trino and Jessica; 33 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
Antonio served in the United States Army during World War II in the China, Burma, India (CBI) Theatre as well as the Philippines and Saigon in the Pacific; circling the globe. After returning home, he worked in Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. He was a very proud Veteran. Antonio also worked for 24 years and retired from the US Forest Service and was a member of the American Legion.
Public visitation and Rosary were on 13 Jan 2017 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A second Rosary with Mass of Christian Burial was on 14 Jan 2017 at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon. Burial followed in the Canjilon Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jesse Apodaca, Carlos Maestas, Jose Onesimo Maestas, Jonathan Cata, Zac Maestas, and Eddie Maestas. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren.
