Daniel was born at Greens Plains, SA an area now known as the town of Paskeville. His parents were Daniel Skipworth and Susan Barbary.
He married Florence Elizabeth CRABB on 26 Aug 1896 at Broken Hill.

Two newspapers reports of his death stated he died on 19 Dec 1941 and was interred on 20 Dec 1941 in the Methodist Section of the Broken Hill Cemetery. His name does not appear on the online cemetery register. He was possibly interred with his wife as the headstone has a blank area beside his wife's and his son's MI.
