He was the beloved husband of Deborah Dalton Knapp; loving father of Michael Knapp, 1LT Ryan Knapp, USA, Alexandra Knapp, Kelly Knapp and Patrick Dalton Knapp; loving son of Anneliese Knapp and the late Leonard Knapp; loving brother of Annagret Wild and loving grandfather of Lauren Knapp. The family will receive friends at PUMPHREY'S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Montgomery Avenue (Rte 28 just off I-270, exit 6-A) Rockville, MD on Thursday, December 21, 2006 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Service will be held at Ft. Myer Chapel on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 8:45 AM, with interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery with Full Honors.
