Wilma E. Carr, 90, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, surrounded by loving family.

Wilma was born January 31, 1926 in Coldwater, MI to Burr & Irma (Swift) Howland. She married John J. Carr on September 17, 1946 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death in April 26, 2002.

Mrs. Carr worked at the former G. C. Murphy Five and Dime store and then for many years at the Kmart Store in Coldwater. She volunteered at Girard Elementary as a “grandma” and was active in the Red Hat Society. Wilma was an enthusiastic Euchre player. She spent much time helping on the family farm and especially loved to drive the tractors. Wilma enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing bingo as well as cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Wilma is survived by her children Dale (Sandra) Carr of Morristown, NJ, David (Gayane) Carr of Kerrville, TX, Donna (Martin) Rosenberg of Parker, CO, Darrell (Nancy) Carr of Coldwater, her sisters Irene Gest of Burr Oak, Wanda (Ray) Kosmerick of Coldwater, Sharon (Jerry) Carpenter of Bronson, her grandchildren Becky (Trevor) Pryor, Jason Carr, Jacob (Amber) Carr, Jennifer (Jay) Johnson, Brittany (Rodney) Bailey, Courtney (Derrick) Bean, Derek Carr and great grandchildren Danielle, Natalie and Adelyn.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her great grandson Alexander Bailey.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Cynthia Veilleux from the United Methodist Church in Union City officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4-8:00PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Jennings Elementary Library Fund, Quincy, MI.
