Cassius C. BROWN

Cassius C. Brown died at the residence of his brother Marcus Brown in Goodland, Kansas on Friday, September 13th, 1889, of typhoid fever.

He was born in Henry Co., Indiana, November 5th, 1862 and would have been 27 years old on his next birthday. He graduated at Loer's Art College in Cincinnati O. in 1886 after which he accepted a situation as professor in penmanship in the Commercial College at Murphreysboro, Tenn. Which position he continued to fill until the building was destroyed by fire in 1887; when he came to Sherman county Kansas, and settled here, where he has resided since and has taught penmanship and practiced law.

His death is very much regretted by all who knew him. His friends and relations mourn his loss.

*****It is not known where this individual was buried, and there is no known tombstone. Many of the individuals buried in the smaller outlying cemeteries were moved to the Goodland cemetery in the early 1900's. This individual has been included in the Goodland cemetery for genealogical research based on the obituary.*****
