Melissa Sue Greer Watson, age 57, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 11, 1959 in Caldwell County to Nellie Crotts and the late Dewey Harrison Greer. Other than her father she is preceded in death by her half-brother Dewey “Buddy” Greer.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to her mother are her husband, Kenneth Watson, of the home; two daughters, Nichole Cosper and husband Beau of West Virginia, Kalyn Watson of Lenoir; three brothers, Mikeal Greer and wife Amanda of Lenoir, Robert Greer and wife Barbara of Morganton, Kenneth Greer, of Morganton; three sisters, Terri Townsend and husband Bruce of Lenoir, Sandra Mull and husband Larry of Icard, Lori Woodring and husband Bobby of Lenoir; three brothers in law, Kent Watson and wife Dana, Kirk Watson and wife Judy, and Kevin Carpenter and wife Keenan; mother and father-in-law, Evaline and Claude Watson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Piney Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Hugh Miller and Rev. Leonard Younce. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Markie Townsend, Adam Hester, Kevin Mullins, Kody Watson, Mac Davis, and Brian Bumgarner.
