Max Allan Brown, 84, of Gilman, IL., died at 6:10 A.M., Monday, January 16, 2017 at his home in rural Gilman.


Max was born February 19, 1932 in Harvel, IL., to Loyd E. and Helen (Sanders) Brown. His childhood was spent in Woodland, IL. Max attended the Woodland Grade School and graduated from Watseka High School.

Max married Karen Sue Seiling in Woodland on July 21, 1961. She survives. Other survivors include his brother - Rex Brown of Decatur, IL., a sister - Sharon Bright of Watseka and Dear Friend - Rod Copas of Gilman.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother - Helen Martin Brown and sister - Carol Ann Brown.

He was a member of the Gilman Auxiliary Police and the Gilman Fire Department. Max mentored many young business people.

Graveside rites will be at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Wenger Green Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Donald J. MacDonald III officiating. At Max's request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorials may be made to the Danforth Reformed Church, Danforth or to the Life Church, Gilman.
