MILTON, Ms. Joyce Ann - Of Flint, Age 49, went home to heaven Thursday, January 18, 2001 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Thursday, January 25, 2001 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with homegoing service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Eddie Collins of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Thursday. Ms. Milton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed after 12noon Wednesday. Ms. Joyce Ann Milton was born December 6, 1951 in West Memphis, Arkansas. Ms. Milton attended Mott Community College and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. Joyce was a charter member of the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as Treasurer and on the Usher Board. Joyce enjoyed cruise travel, reading, shopping, and giving to others. She is survived by her devoted mother, Sarah B. Milton; brother, Jesse (Shelly) Milton; grandmother Willie B. Milton; god-son, James Cliff Byrd, all of Flint; 5 aunts, Beatrice Jones, Dorothy (Billy) Gipson, Annie Gordon of Flint, Lillian Parker of Detroit, Georgia Williams of West Memphis, AR; 4 uncles, Cliff, Robert Milton of Flint, Troy (Verlene) of Monroe, MI, Henry (Ozelia) Milton of Akron, OH; special aunt, Eunice Milton; special cousins, Shirley Milton and Chris Eason; special friends, Guy Slyvester, Verna, Rosa and Jackie; a host of cousins, neighbors, and many friends including Pastor and Mrs. Eddie Collins, the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church family, and U.S. Postal Service co-workers. Ms. Milton is preceded in death by her father; uncle; and cousins.
