David August Ragland, 45, resident of Elgin, died after a brief illness on April 26, 1998.
A native of Austin, he was the son of Roy Alvin Ragland and Mary Ann Ragland, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Isaac David Ragland; grandsons, Ethan and Logan Ragland, all of Austin; sister, Ruth Lewis, of Austin; brother, Phil Ragland, of Washington state; nephew, Stephen Manning; and great-nephew, Jake August Manning, both of Buda; nieces, Sonya Ragland, Jodi Ragland, Pamela Fron and great-niece, Rebecca Fron, all of Austin; longtime companion, Katheryn Wendler; and numerous friends from near and far.
David, may you now have the peace and happiness you searched for in this life. We will miss your great sense of humor and your giving spirit. Though the time was brief, we thank God for all the moments you shared with us. Our love will always be with you.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 1998, in the Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park after the visitation.
