Archie Q. Pech, age 81, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Mary's
Home at Felician Village.

Archie was born on April 4, 1935 in Manitowoc to the late Quirin and Agnes Krajnek Pech. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1954. Archie served as an aviation mechanic in the United States Army from 1954 to 1958, stationed at Fort Belvor, Virginia. On April 25, 1956, Archie married Martha Beers in Alexandria, Virginia. Two years later, they moved to Manitowoc to begin and raise their family, and resided there for the remainder of their lives. Archie retired from the City of Manitowoc, Department of Parks and Recreation in 1993 after more than 30 years of service. Archie was an animal lover, and enjoyed nature and being outdoors as much as possible. He liked to browse antique stores, and was an active member of First Reformed United Church of Christ before becoming ill. He was a regular contributor to the Lakeshore Humane Society and The Salvation Army.

Survivors include Archie's daughter, Stacy Taylor, her husband Jay Taylor, two grandsons, Kyle Taylor and Nick Taylor, all of Dublin, Ohio; very special friend of many years, Diane Fricke, Manitowoc, and her family; sister-in-law, Janet Beers Schultz of Whispering Pines, N.C.; and other relatives and friends. Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Quirin and Agnes Pech; wife, Martha; his daughter, Sara; and his brother-in-law, Donald M. Schultz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Stephen Rose will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post 659. Following the graveside services, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Archie's name to the Lakeshore Humane Society, Inc., 1551 North 8th Street, Manitowoc.
