Flossie was survived by her husband Newby Gene Ellington of the home; 2 sons: James of Albuquerque and Glenn of Santa Fe; daughter Yvonne Ellington of the home; 2 brothers: Joe Martinez of Sombrillo and Manuel Martinez of Chimayo; 2 sisters: Vera Gallegos and Genarita Martinez, both of Chimayo; and 2 grandchildren.
Flossie was a 1953 graduate of Santa Cruz High School. She met Newby Ellington at Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos when she worked there as a waitress. On 21 Dec 1957, they married. She worked for many years at the Rio Grande Cafe in Española and also as an electronic technician for Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Funeral srvices were held 6 Mar 1989 in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Burial followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Martinez, Tito Martinez, Joe Guthrie, Gilbert Sanchez, Bob Thompson, and Don Bryson.
