MISHAWAKA - Susan J. Monroe, 46, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at home.

Susan was born on September 17, 1970 in Kalamazoo, MI to Michael and Linda (Derby) Monroe. She is survived by her mother Linda of South Bend; father, Michael of Three Rivers, MI; and daughters, Daphne Jean Monroe-Wessendorf of Chicago, IL and Ramona Douglas Monroe Lukowski of Mishawaka; son, Simon Daniel Monroe Lukowski of Mishawaka; sister, Christine L. (Michael) Carson of North Liberty; brothers, Daniel B. Monroe of Mishawaka and Steven M. Monroe of Bloomington, IN; nieces, Sydney Carson, Olivia and Sophia Monroe; nephew, Sam Carson and grandparents, Charles and Carole Stanski of Kalamazoo, MI.

Susan's interests included archeology, studying different cultures and religions. Her family, children and pets were the center of her life.

The family will have a gathering of friends on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society , 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
