John E. Spillane, 93, of Walpole died peacefully on March 6, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Helen Jarvis Spillane, the love of his life, and cherished father of 13. He leaves behind his son John and his wife Ethel of Walpole, son Daniel of Walpole, daughter Mary Stadelmann of Pembroke , son Timothy and his wife Sarah of Upton, daughter Jeanne Allard and her husband Mark of Windsor, CT, daughter Janet Stard and her husband Gary of Norwell, daughter Kathleen Greene and her husband Robert of Attleboro, son Mark and his wife Sue of South Walpole, daughter Anne Nunn and her husband Stephen of Cumberland, Rhode Island, son Patrick and his wife Brenda of Norton, daughter Maureen Gulino and her husband Steven of Milford, son Peter of Walpole, son Thomas and his wife Cathy of Plainville and his much loved sister-in-law Sister Mary William (A.J.) Jarvis of Framingham. He also leaves 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He will be especially missed by his adoring cat Bonnie. Born in Boston on August 27, 1918, John was the son of John M. and Florence Spillane, brother to Florence and Ruth, and half-brother to Thomas and Joseph Spillane. A long time resident of Walpole John delighted in time spent with his family and the many years he shared with his loving wife Helen. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of family gatherings, camping and vacationing in New Hampshire, trips to the casino, and was an avid reader. He was a lifelong New England sports fan. A devout Christian, John was a communicant of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. He was retired from Bird and Son Company in East Walpole and the Foxboro Company of Foxboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church East Street @ Diamond Street on Friday, March 9th, 2012 @ 10Am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Walpole Visiting Nurse Association, Post Office Box 252, Walpole, MA 02081.
