She was born October 9, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Frances Evalina “Eva” (Singley) Golden. She married Sherman Shay, Sr. on March 23, 1946.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of almost 71 years, Sherman Shay, Sr.; her children, Sheryl Ann (Gary) Clayton of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Sherman (Shelly) Shay, Jr. of Yucca Valley, California; five grandchildren, Wendy Birtcher, Mark Clayton, Logan Aguilar, Nick Aguilar and Mikayla Aguilar and two great-grandchildren, Johnny Birtcher and Kelsey Birtcher; her twin sister, Betty Dalton of Galesburg and Pauline Warner of Brimfield; and nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Greta “Dede” Booth, Gertrude “Dode” Pack and Paula Porter.
She had lived in Illinois and California. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a restaurant manager for Taco Bell for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing Dominos, traveling to Laughlin, Nevada, dune buggy riding and traveling.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church, 401 N. Washington St. in Abingdon. Rev. Nancy Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Township Cemetery in Elmwood. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
