Jo Ann Marie Collins, age 73, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully in her home on January 12, 2017.
Jo Ann was born December 2, 1943, in Unionville, to Joseph and Anna (Koepf) Sakon. She married Thomas Collins on May 22, 1965. He preceded her in death in 2009. She enjoyed crocheting, watching any baseball game, including Tigers and Loons, helping with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a member of Our Lady Consolata Parish in Sebewaing.
Jo Ann is the proud mother of: Margaret (Keith) Gokey of Brighton, Thomas (Laurie) Collins of Sebewaing, Kenneth Collins of Plover, WI, Jeffery (Wendy) Collins of Hernando MS, and Michele (John) Sigmund) of Sebewaing; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; siblings: Joseph (Rosemary) Sakon, Jr., Geraldine (David) Binder, John (friend Karen) Sakon, Linda (Mike) O’Hare, and Anthony (Cindy) Sakon; sister-in-law, Sally Sakon; and many nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents: Joseph and Anna Sakon; and brother, Richard Sakon.
Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Our Lady Consolata Parish at Holy Family site in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Unionville.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or Knights of Columbus (Unionville).
