Mrs. Laura J. (Kepner) McConnell, 66, of 2104 Lanier Drive, Silver Spring, MD, died at 4:00 A.M. on Saturday March 22, 2003 in her home.
Born, July 8, 1936 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harris M. and Rosella L. (Rock) Kepner. She was a life long resident of Waynesboro, PA and Silver Spring, MD.
Mrs. McConnell attended Waynesboro Schools.
She and her husband of over 40 years, George L. McConnell, were married on July 26, 1958 in Greensburg, MD. They have lived at their present residence for the past 41 years.
Mrs. McConnell was a homemaker all of her life.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kensington Ward, where she taught Sunday School and Primary. She was also a member and past secretary of the Relief Society.
She volunteered at the Children's Center in Washington, D.C.. and with the Holy Cross Hospice.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Cassie J. Fish of West Valley, UT; one son, Steven McConnell of Vancouver, WA; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Stouffer of Waynesboro, and Deborah Horm of Bethesda, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews.
