Nashville, Kansas – Sheila Rae McGuire, 76, passed away January 11, 2017 at her home in Nashville, Kansas. She was born November 26, 1940 in Newton, Kansas to John and Alta (McDougal) Kluge. On June 20, 1958 she married William Joseph “Joe” McGuire in Newton at St. Marys Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2006.
Sheila was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Zenda.
Survivors include four children, Catherine McGuire of Nashville, KS, Bill (Ann) McGuire of Mora, NM, John (Tina) McGuire of Claflin and Jennifer (Emery) Westerman of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Clint McGuire, Andrew Westerman, Amber McGuire, Emily Wadel, Liv Longfellow, Siri McGuire and Jacob Westerman; eight great grandchildren; brother in-law Milford Ediger of Newton; and beloved nieces, Becky Ediger and Lindy Lang.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Joe”; parents; 3 brothers, Bill Kluge, Jim Kluge and Jerry Kluge; and sister, Donna Ediger.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS. Rosary service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. John Catholic Church in Zenda. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Curtis Robertson presiding. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Zenda, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or The Pete Swingle Family in care of Larrison Mortuary.
