HAMPTON - Thomas "T.A" Ferrell, 79, died peacefully on January 9, 2017. Born on August 21, 1937 in Johnson County, North Carolina. He was a resident of Hampton, Va for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ferrell and Essie Baker; as well as his stepson, Michael Branch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Edna Ferrell; daughter, Lisa Mitchell; sons, Floyd (Sue), Benny (Patty), Freddy; stepchildren, Neva (Thom), Linda, Bobby and Charlie (Cheryl); 19 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; four sisters; and two brothers. T.A. worked as an Electrician for over 25 years for Mallory Electric Co. He loved woodworking and working outside in the yard, as well as traveling. T.A. was a man of integrity, who loved his God, his family and his church. He was a member of Pine Chapel Baptist Church and was blessed by all the support and love he received there. The family would like to express their gratitude to Anntoine, Melinda, Shay, O'Dell and Stephanie, who took such loving care of T.A.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14 at Peninsula Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
