Santo Asaro of Mount Kisco, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 24, 2014. Born on February 7, 1925 to Concetta and Diego Asaro, he continued to reside in the same house he was born in for over 89 years. Santo was predeceased by his beloved wife, Yolanda Testino Asaro, to whom he was married for 51 years. During his lifetime, he owned A&B Market for many years, later operated a produce business and owned several Mt. Kisco apartment buildings. Santo was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army's 746th Tank Bn. He was a member of the American Legion Post 136 for 66 years and served as a Post Commander. He often enjoyed speaking at the local schools about his service to our country and his pride on being an American. Santo was a hard-working, successful businessman as well as a loving husband and father and a tremendous role model for his children. He is survived by his son Richard Asaro (Nancy), his daughter Patricia Grant (Bruce); his grandchildren, Richard and Ryan Asaro, Jennifer Grant Holland (Court), Lauren Grant Javanmardi (Cameron), Caroline Grant, and Stuart Grant; his two great-grandchildren, Layla and Claire Javanmardi, his two sisters Dina Tiani and Josephine Licenziato (Vincent); along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph (Pep) Brunco. Visiting hours will be Sunday, April 27, 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home Inc. His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 28 at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial Monday April 28, 2014, 10:00am at St. Francis Cemetery
