Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Evenson Chapel for Mrs. Lena Carrie Hjelm, 80, of Kittitas, who died Thursday at the Ellensburg General Hospital. C. M. Strong will officiate at the rites and burial will be in the High Valley Memorial Gardens.
Lena Rusten was born Aug. 15, 1884 at Lake Preston, S.D.; and was married there Jan. 13, 1904 to Gilbert G. Hjelm, who died last April. They first came to Ellensburg in 1936, moved to Seattle for three years and back to Kittitas in 1956.
Surviving are four sons, George and Lawrence, both of Othello; Elmer and Herbert, both of Seattle; five daughters, Mrs. Emma Taylor, Whitefish, Mont., Mrs Ellen Idler and Mrs. Irene Gamble, both of Ellensburg, and Mrs. Dora Flaskerud, Longview, and Mrs. Clara Miller, Yakima; 28 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
