Rosemary (Rose) Wegner, 65, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Rosemary was born on July 5, 1945 in Hollywood, California to Marlowe and Irene (Vassey) Wegner. She grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota. She attended Moorhead State Campus High School, where she graduated in 1963.

Rosemary's mother, Irene, passed away when Rosemary was twelve. In 1958, her father married Thelma Anna Strand. Thelma adopted Rosemary and her siblings in 1959. Rosemary married Paul Teeuwen in 1964 in Moorhead, Minnesota. They had two children, John Rogers and Deborah Elizabeth. They divorced in 1972.

Rosemary graduated from Moorhead State University in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduating, she was employed as an auditor for the Department of Revenue in the Petroleum Division for the State of Minnesota. While there, she had the opportunity to travel across northern Minnesota, and enjoyed meeting the many people that she encountered.

Rosemary was a warm and loving person who cherished her family and friends very much. While she acquired a great number of books and knick-knacks, she didn't put much emphasis on material things. Nothing gave her more joy than a big bear hug from her children and grandchildren.

She loved to read, cross-stitch, work and play on the computer. She also enjoyed doing genealogy research of her family. Rosemary was dearly loved by her family and will be missed very much.

In the final months, Rosemary was receiving care from Hospice of the Red River Valley. She cherished the time the nurses spent with her, and the wonderful care that she received. She wanted to thank the wonderful nurses, counselors, and the chaplain at Hospice; as they were a great joy and comfort in the final months of her life.

Rosemary is survived by her children, John (Nancy) Teeuwen, Fargo, ND; Deborah (John Michael) Elliott, Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Nichole and John Michael Teeuwen, Fargo, ND; Samantha Elliott, Sacramento, CA; Karina and Vyron Morkassel II, Fargo, ND; great granddaughter, Destiny Teeuwen, Fargo, ND; sisters, Virginia (Ginny) Armstrong, Idaho Falls, ID; Georgia Wegner, Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Stephanie Wegner, Fargo, ND; and close family friend Roxanne Grenz, who lived with and cared for Rosemary for the final five years of her life. She is also survived by many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Marlowe, Irene, and Thelma; granddaughter, Brandi Teeuwen; sister, Susan Wegner; and brother, Christopher Wegner.
