She was a compassionate friend of strays, dogs and cats. Known as the "Hat Lady" Andie was active in all the neighborhoods where she lived – from Maplehurst to Market Square to Old North Knoxville. She was the proprietor of the Vagabondia dress shop for "real women" on Market Square and helped lead the revitalization of the center city as president of City People and the Market Square District Association. At the time of her death she was president of the Old North Knoxville Association and a commissioner of the Historic Zoning Commission. Previously she was a director of Knox Heritage. She was a graduate of Milligan College.She is survived by her husband and soul mate Noel Hudson; her parents Richard and Jane Ray; siblings and their spouses Barney and Cathy Ray of Tallahassee, FL, Bart and Denice Ray of Ooltewah, TN, Matthew and Kyra Ray of Jacksonville, FL; nieces Caitlin, Olivia, Meghan, Nadia and Cameryn Ray; and nephews Andrew, Daniel, and Jacob Ray; her mother-in-law Anita Smith; brothers-in-law and their spouses Brian and Sheila Hudson, Bret and Kathy Hudson, Daniel and Michelle Smith, David and Kimberly Hudson; sister-in-law and spouse Niki and Chris Finelli; nieces and nephews Jackie and Robby Hudson, Jessica Hudson, Amanda Miller, Hudson and Eveley Smith, and Michael, Mitchell, and Bo Finelli. - "Knoxville Sentinel", 12-20-2015
