Mary Marguerite (Fenstermacher) Seward, 84, of Slocum Township, Luzerne County, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at her home.
Born in Wapwallopen on Nov. 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Eva (Troutman) Fenstermacher. She was the wife of George W. Seward, whom she married 59 years ago in August 1950.
Following her graduation from Nescopeck High School, she worked many years at Lady Ester in Berwick. She also worked as a private housecleaner for several families in the Berwick area.
Marguerite enjoyed gardening, needlework, spending time with her dog, Buddy, and caring for her husband, George.
She was a member of St. Mark's Reformed Church, Pond Hill.
She is survived by her brother, Ray Fenstermacher and his wife, Donna, of Berwick. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, and her brother and sisters-in-law: Fred Seward, Apalachin, N.Y.; Betty Badman, Slocum; Anna VanFossen, Slocum; and Shirley Jane Wojcik, Dorrance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Atwood Fenstermacher, and the following brothers and sister-in law: Dorothy Force, Ray Seward and Harold Seward.
Marguerite's funeral service will be private. Her burial will be at the Pond Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be sent to St. Mark's Reformed Church in Pond Hill.
The McMichael & Rairigh Funeral Home Inc., 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick, is assisting her family with the service arrangements.
