Melissa "Missy" Ann Carter-Moss, born December 26, 1965, went to her eternal resting place on January 5, 2017. Melissa graduated Fulton High School, class of 1983. She was a faithful and longtime member of Overcoming Believers Church. Missy was employed at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital.

Preceded in death by father, Marvin Carter, Jr.; stepfather, Hubert Prater, Jr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Carter, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. James Webb, all of Alcoa, TN; five aunts; and three uncles. Survived by her mother, Ruenell Prater; daughter, Nasheaya Carter; god-daughter, Timberlyn Flack; brother, John (Felicia) Bradley; devoted sister, Deirdre Carter; nephews, Jykine (Yoleisha) Bradley, Rodney Billings and Jermichael (Rockell) Sullivan; nieces, Jatreya Bradley and Janaisha Bradley; several aunts, uncles and cousins to include a devoted cousin, Pamela Carter.

Friday, January 13, 2017, the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a homegoing celebration to follow at Overcoming Believers Church at 211 Harriet Tubman Street, Knoxville, TN 37915. Pastor Daryl Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, 2500 Maryville Pike, where a white dove release will conclude the service.
