Mr. Marvin H. Massey, age 86, of Palestine, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.Mr. Massey, born March 6, 1916, was the son of David Allen Massey and Georgia Hicks Massey. He served as a Postmaster for 33 years prior to retiring and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Massey was also a member of the Lions Club and attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church.In 1952 Mr. Massey married Elizabeth Lancaster and she preceded him in death in 1991. He is survived by a son, Allen Massey of Palestine; a daughter, Francis Grimes of North Little Rock; two sisters, Barbara Loewer of Wynne and Delanie Harris of Prospect, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Massey was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin Massey Jr. in 2002 and Larry Massey in 1975.Visitation service for Mr. Massey will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with burial following in Bell Cemetery.
