Obie was born on November 10, 1950 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Herman Albert Oberhaus and Mary Ellen (Crean) Oberhaus.
On August 16, 1985, Obie married Dianna Kutey, the love of his life, in St. Charles County, MO.
He had worked many years for Jesuit Community Corporation in St. Louis, MO, as a switchboard supervisor. Obie was a member of the Granite City Moose Lodge #272. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years, however, his passion was playing golf. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Obie loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Dianna Oberhaus of Granite City, IL; loving daughters, Ashlee (Nicholas) Heck of Waterloo, IL and Katelyn Oberhaus of Maryville, IL; dear siblings, Diane Spear of House Springs, MO and Dale (Kathy) Oberhaus of Fenton, MO; proud grandfather of Drew Heck; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, a visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. The Moose Lodge will hold a service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Memorial donations may be given to Granite City Moose Lodge #272 or to Partners for Pets and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
