For 16 years Melba was bookkeeper and secretary for the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Monticello. She was always a homemaker, devoted to her family and friends. She was an active member of the Monticello Church of Christ. She moved to El Dorado, AR in 2015 to live near her daughter.
Melba was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Wilbur (Dick) Dunn, two brothers De Witt and Talmadge Waldrip and two sisters, Flora Mormon and Maxine Stewart, and one great-grandson, Jack David Dunn.
She is survived by her son Dr. Dick Dunn (Ellen), of Hot Springs, AR; her daughter, Judy Ward (Dr. Steve) of El Dorado, AR; and by her six grandchildren: Ashley DeMent (Tim) with Mia of Dallas, TX; Allen Smith (Sandi) with Abigail, Adeline, Mary Allen, and Eva of Atlanta, GA; Lara Chesshir (Jay) with Claire Foster (Matt), Will and Sam of Little Rock, AR; David Dunn (Jen) with Lily of Fayetteville, AR; Dr. Jonathan Dunn (Dr.Mandee) with Kya, Henry, and Annabelle of Little Rock, AR; and Nathan Dunn (Lindsey) with Dylan, Grace, and Piper of Centerton, AR. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Sue Blann of San Angelo, TX and many other family members.
Funeral service for Melba will be held at Stephenson–Dearman Funeral Home, Monticello, AR on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Grandson, Minister Allen Smith and Minister Paul Mowrer will conduct the service. A private family committal service will be held in Oakland Cemetery prior to the funeral. Family visitation will be one hour preceding the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
