Mrs. Peggy Dymott Bennett, 82, passed away peacefully Monday, January 9, 2017. Many of her friends commented she died of a broken heart after losing her devoted husband of 63 years, Louis "Bee" Bennett, on November 17, 2016. Peggy graduated from Mineral Springs and was employed by Piedmont Airlines. After retiring, she and Louis traveled extensively, enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, camping, and all of life together. Peggy also enjoyed being a member of the Snappy Tappers. She was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church and sang in the church choir as long as health permitted. She enjoyed being a cheerful visitor to shut-ins and was known as a wonderful cook, frequently using her gift of hospitality. Peggy was an avid cross-stitcher, especially known for her hand-stitched greeting cards. She and Louis enjoyed winters in their Lakeland, FL retirement cottage and returned to their Winston-Salem home in late spring each year. She was a friend to all with abundant enthusiasm for life.

Peggy is survived by her son, Rick Bennett (Karen) of Bozeman, MT; sister, Bonnie Taylor (Joe); nephew, Paul Ivey (Michele) of Columbus, GA; two great-nephews, Jack and Ben Ivey; sister-in-law, Edna Eaton; and brother-in-law, Emil Bennett.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, at Bethany Baptist Church with Dr. Brad Stamey and Rev. Brian Alverson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon. There will be a private committal service held for the family. Memorials may be made to: Bethany Baptist Church, 600 Old Hollow Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com. (Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel)
