Anne Boles Mitchell, 90, of Center Avenue, Jim Thorpe passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Patrick L. Mitchell, who passed away Nov. 27, 1981. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Miller) Boles. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Paul's High School Class in the Greenridge section of Scranton.She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe.
She had retired after working for many years as a teacher's aide with the Jim Thorpe Area School District and the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.
She is survived by her children, Sally, wife of Edward Kattner of Jim Thorpe, Nancy Mitchell of Jim Thorpe, Patrick James Mitchell of Carlsbad, Calif., Jane, wife of Todd Mason of Jim Thorpe; her brother, the Rev. Joseph M. Boles of Scranton; sister-in-law, Anne Boles of Scranton; grandchildren, Gerry Mitchell, Jeffrey Dennis, Elizabeth Mason and Lauren Mason, great-grandchildren, Nathan and Grace Dennis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter Kathleen; sisters, Mary Breslin and Lorette Tolan; and a brother James Boles.
Services: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 180 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe with her brother, the Rev. Joseph M. Boles officiating. Call
