MARION FRANCES HALEY

Marion Frances Haley of Abington departed this earth to be with her Lord on January 5th. She was born Marion Cantrel in 1924 to Francis and Maria Cantrel of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, the second daughter of four girls. Due to effects of the Great Depression the family moved from Phillipsburg to Natick, MA, when Marion was young.

She graduated from Natick High School in the class of 1941. She was Vice President of the National Honor Society.

After attending Traphagen School of Design in New York, she worked for Textron. Her interest, however, was in real estate and she subsequently worked for Old Town Realty and Martin Cerel Realtor, both in Natick.

Marion married Attorney Joseph E. Haley of Holliston in 1956. Shortly after the marriage, Marion and Joe opened Haley Real Estate on East Central St. in Natick and later, Haley Real Estate on Union Ave. in Framingham.

In her 92 years Marion never stopped. She was a dynamo, the epitome of the energizer bunny. She was small of stature but big of heart. She was strong in her faith, family and friends. They meant the world to her and her love for them knew no bounds.

Marion was the wife of the late Joseph E. Haley, sister of the late Vivian Furtney and Frances Balcom. She leaves behind her sister Elaine Cantrel Nero of Abington, with whom she resided, her nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Lena.

Burial will be in the St Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
