Mrs. Nancy Gayle Davis Matthews, age 73, wife of John "Pat" Matthews formerly of Union, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at White Oak Manor.

Mrs. Matthews was born in Union, SC on April 23, 1943 a daughter of the late Carl Leroy Davis and Hazel Baldwin Davis. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where she had previously helped in the Nursery, with Awana, and VBS.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one Son, Donald Wayne Sprouse of Brunswick, GA; two daughters, Karen Brown of Union and Lisa S. Robbins and husband Mack of Easley; one brother, Tommy Davis and wife Gwen of Virginia; two sisters, Elleanor Edens of Georgia and Donna Byers and husband Jerry; three granddaughters, Ashley Neel and husband Jonathan of Fort Mill, Kaitlyn Brown and fiancée CJ Gardin of Union, and Lindsey Robbins of Easley; and one great-granddaughter, Amber Rain Gardin. She was predeceased by one brother Carl "Buddy" Davis.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday prior.
