Della E. Taylor
90, of Dover passed away on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at New Dawn Health Care Centre in Dover. Born on April 9, 1926, in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Rose (Fondriest) Recla. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School with the class of 1944. She married Joseph Parsons, who preceded her in death in 1964. She was also preceded in death by her still born son, Mark Parsons; two brothers; three sisters, and her second husband, Harry Taylor, who died in 2015.
Della worked at Union Hospital as a certified medical records technician for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing, but most of all she loved cooking for her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Joseph (Cindy) Parsons of New Philadelphia and Carl (Dana) Parsons of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Michele Myers of Tuscarawas, Scott (Mindy) Parsons of Midvale, Jeremy Kimes (fiancé, Yolanda Gonzalez) of Wadsworth; nine great-grandchildren, Tobie, Tanner, Ty, and Trevor Myers of Tuscarawas, and Allysa, Brodey, and Braydan Parsons of Midvale, MacKenzie and Kylie Kimes of Wadsworth; and her brother, Norm Recla of Michigan.
In honoring Della's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover at 1 p.m. with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia for both Della and Harry. The New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors for Harry. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
