Our precious Bryan Voshon Hodges gained his wings at the tender age of 22, on January 4, 2017 in his hometown of Asheville, NC.

During his time with us, his life was shared between his mother Sherri L. Davis, and his father Christopher L. Hodges; two brothers Justin Hodges and Christian Hodges, and stepmother, Geanita H. Everett (Brock Everett). Bryan shared a very special bond with his Aunt Kim, Kimberly D. Harrison and cousin Shanae L. “Nae” Davis. He was loved by his great grandmother Constance Owens, grandfather Jupiter Owens (Charmayne Owens), and grandmother Carlita Jaime (Levi Jaime).

He was also loved and adored by a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His death was preceded by some very special angels: grandmother Sandra M. “Mams” Davis; step grandfather James C. “Paps” Bolden; grandfather Herbert Davis; and godparents Clifton and Patricia Roland.
Among the above listed, Bryan was also loved and cared for by many within the community near and far.

His love for his church families (Hill Street Missionary Baptist Church, River of Life International and New Beginning Ministries – Charlotte) developed his passion for praise and worship and taught him the word of God.

Educators from Asheville City Schools (ACS Preschool, Hall Fletcher, Asheville Middle, Asheville High), and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (Phillip O. Berry Academy) enhanced his vocabulary, cognitive and social skills. The medical staff of Levine Children’s Hospital who nurtured him back to health and provided excellent medical care post-transplant. Also, the 1p36 Deletion community; Special Olympics; and the community support services for the developmental disabled population (The ARC of NC, Jireh’s Place) gave him the opportunity to explore and grow into an active, vibrant, and resilient young man.

Bryan left a lasting impression on so many lives, and we are proud that his legacy will be forever remembered, and carried on by those lives he’s touched.

The Celebration of Life memorial service will be Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 1:00pm, at The River of Life International Church located at 826 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. The family will be receiving visitors at the Davis’ family home on 91 Congress St., Asheville, NC 28801 from 12 noon to 9pm.
