Vera Hazelwood, 88, of Danville, passed away on January 5, 2017, at Danville Medical Center. She was born on August 14, 1928, in Axton, to Evie Key Hanks and Emory Hanks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Hazelwood. She retired from Dan River Mills. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Eden.
She is survived by her daughter, Donnivee Sparks; her sons, Gary Hazelwood (Alice) and Charles Hazelwood; seven grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Rosylin Ann Bedford; a son, John Hazelwood; brothers, Archie Hanks and Chester Hanks; a sister, Eria Harris.
Burial will be at Dan View Cemetery.
