Mrs. Laura Elizabeth Baker Stacks, 70, of Lancaster, widow of David L. Stacks, passed
away Monday, January 9, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare-Union. She was born August 6,
1946 in Chester, a daughter of the late William Baker and Frances Elizabeth Varnadore
Baker. Mrs. Stacks enjoyed helping other people and made this a routine part of her life.
Her favorite hobbies were gardening and fishing.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Stacks will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2 pm
from the graveside at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Howard Baker
officiating.
Mrs. Stacks is survived by two sons, Tim Stacks and Darren Stacks both of Lancaster; two
daughters, Kendra Stacks of Lancaster and Audra Howser of Conway; two brothers,
Marion Baker of Lancaster and James Howard Baker of Walterboro; a sister, Virgie
Thompson of Fort Mill; and five grandchildren, Brandon Stacks, Todd Stacks, Elizabeth
Oakes, Dustin Stacks and Lacey Howser. She was preceded in death by a son, Doug
Stacks; and a brother, William Baker.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the home of Mrs. Stacks.
