Janet Marie Montgomery
June 4, 1947 - January 7, 2017
Janet Marie Hall Montgomery, 69, of Martinsville, was whisked away to paradise by her loving and wise Heavenly Father on January 7, 2017. She was born in Martinsville, June 4, 1947 to Raymond C. and Elizabeth Hall. She was a 1965 graduate of Fieldale High School. Janet was employed by Bank of America for over 20 years, Hooker Furniture for 14 years and retired from Carter Bank and Trust. She was a member of Collinsville Church of the Brethren where she was treasurer of Women's Fellowship. She loved spending time with her grandson, family and long-time friends and especially loved vacationing at Pigeon Forge. Janet also loved baking in her new kitchen which she shared with her many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jason L. Montgomery in May of 2014.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer M. Paitsel and husband, Kevin of Martinsville; grandson, Kaden Paitsel; sister, Carolyn Jarrett and husband, Mark of Martinsville; brother, Richard Hall of Martinsville; sisters-in-law, Lucille Montgomery of Hillsville and Rosie Ann Breeden of Charlottesville. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Collinsville Church of the Brethren.
The funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Roy McVey officiating. Interment at the Allison Chapel Church of God cemetery in Hillsville will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
