"Reba Celeste Ward, 83, of Bowling Green, passed away on Monday, January 9, in the Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was a native of Wilson County, TN and daughter of the late John W. and Cora Christman Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Paul Ward, a brother, Joseph William Jenkins and a grandson, Stephen Lipton.
Mrs. Ward worked in several positions and retired as an RN at Greenview Regional Hospital. She was a member of Scottsville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Don Ward, Bowling Green, and John E. Johnson III, Ft. Mojave, AZ; two daughters, Linda C. Lipton, Staten Island, NY, and Katherine A. Niver, Somers, CT; two brothers, Edwin Franklin Jenkins and Warren Douglas Jenkins, both of Hartsville, TN; a sister, Wanda Johnson (Delford), Scottsville; sister-in-law, Kay Jenkins, Lebanon, TN; nine grandchildren, Jerry Ward, Matthew Lipton, Laura Ward, Angela Ward, Alicia Lipton, Nicholas Vecchio, Steven Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Kriztofer-Aiden, Kaleigh Marie, Briley and Bryce; nieces and nephews, Shannon & Sandy Newton, Ann & Riley Keown, Kimberly & Ricky Dunaway, John Jenkins, Lisa Jenkins, Derek & Chrissy Johnson, Douglas and Darlene Jenkins, Sherry Jenkins and Tina Jenkins.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Thursday and from 9 until 11 am Friday at the JC Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday in the Lovers Lane Chapel with burial to follow in the Bowling Green Gardens."
