Harold Dean Edwards, 85, of Fort Gibson, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at his home. Dean was born on September 5, 1931, In Stidham, Oklahoma the son of Marion Earl and Julia Belle (Dobbs) Edwards.
After completing 8th grade at Stidham, he later received his Associates Degree from Okmulgee State Tech. Dean entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on March 21, 1951. On March 30, 1951, Dean married Lena Faye Stark in Okmulgee. They were happily married for sixty-five years. He worked as a farmer, carpenter, and in heating and air. Dean retired from the Federal Building Management. He was a hard worker and loved by many. Dean was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, Lena, of the home; his sons, Gary Edwards of Eufaula, OK; and Chester Edwards of Hugo, OK; his daughters, Marilyn Miller of Broken Arrow, OK; Charolette Condrey of Checotah, OK; Sherri Jackson of Ft. Gibson, OK; and Donna Gorman of Warner, OK. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, TC Edwards, Earlen Edwards, Cecil Edwards, Halford Edwards, and Ausley Edwards, his sisters, Gladys Young, Trobie Lynch, Willa Mae Edwards, Billie Burdine and June Hannon and a grandson Andy Condrey.
