Raymond Morgan Hale was born February 19, 1930 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, the son of Fred and Beulah (LaMar) Hale.

In his youth, he was confirmed at the Methodist Church in Peterson.

Ray attended high school in Peterson before joining the United States Army. He served his country for six years in the Army during the Korean Conflict and for fourteen years in the Air Force.

On August 25, 1956, Ray was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Stange at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. Together, they were blessed with six children: Teresa, Jeanne, Michael, Lisa, Kim, and Angie.

Ray was currently a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. He also was a member of the Sioux Rapids American Legion.

Hobbies of Ray’s included attending the Alta races, buying lottery tickets, and driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Ray especially loved being behind the wheel of any semi-truck. Everyone who knew Ray would say he loved life, and especially enjoyed his many grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma Jean; son-in-law, Kevin Iehl; brothers: Clyde and Bobby Hale; sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Marge Hale.
