Mrs. Bessie J. Walden, 71, of West Hamlin, died Wednesday, May 22, 1984, in Boone County Health Care Center, Danville. Surviving: Husband, Oather; daughter, Mrs. Gladys Sowers of Detroit, Mich; brothers, Lessie Adkins of Sias, Fred Adkins of Spurlockville, Wilford Adkins of Detroit, Hartley Adkins of Charleston, Ishmel Adkins of Branchland; sisters, Mrs. Virgie Stowers of Griffithsville, Mrs. Elva Honaker of Hamlin; three grandchildren. Services were held Friday in Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, with the Rev. Roy Withrow officiating. Burial was in Mark Adkins Cemetery, near Sias.
