After the war he married Goldie "Eileen" KEAGY. They had three children: James ("Jimmy"), Jean, and David. Eileen and both of their sons died before him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He also had a great sense of humor.
He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. In retirement he enjoyed fishing and working with wood and made many beautiful works of art with wood.
He received the highest award possible from the Boy Scouts of America, the Silver Beaver Award, which was presented to him by Bob Hope.
He was lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Dale had three sisters that all died before him.
He was survived by his second wife Joan: his daughter Jean, three grandchildren Stacey, Dustin and Darren, and two great grandchildren Wyatt and Stella, and several nieces and nephews.
