Darlene Robinson died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 26, 2016, and was interred in Fayette, Iowa. She is survived by two children, Pamela and Sherman; two grandchildren, Katie and Russ; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Anthony. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glen Robinson.
Darlene grew up in Fayette and graduated from Research Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She specialized in surgical and industrial nursing and created Gallo Winery’s first medical unit. In 1975 she and Glen purchased Edwards Electric and together they built it into the largest independent appliance store in the county. Darlene was an avid bridge player and golfer, forming deep and lasting friendships that took her around the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Darlene’s name to the University of Iowa Nursing Student Scholarships."
