Richard William Freitas

Dick Freitas, 81, passed away, January 3, 2017. He was born on March 16, 1935, in Seattle Washington to William Patrick Freitas and Emma Olena Langei. His Mother passed away when he was 4 years old, and his Dad remarried a couple of years later to Amelia Freitas, who raised him. He resided in Shoreline, Wa for 55 years.

Dick was preceded in death by his son Paul Freitas, and his sister Diane Panteleeff. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Jean Freitas, and his children; Doug Freitas (Lynn); Jim Freitas (Barb); Nancy Sanborn (Ken); Mary Ann Laris (Rick); John Freitas (Michele), and his 12 grandchildren; Crystal, Andrew & Tyler Lengenfelder; Jenna & Ryan Freitas; Keisha Kimball; Brandon Freitas; Kristi, Shawn and Kara Laris; Logan and Brayden Freitas, and 3 great grandchildren; Harley and Drew Lengenfelder, Mason Sanford, and another Great Granddaughter due in 3 weeks. Step-brother Bill Freitas, and Step-sister Kathryn Butzerin.

He graduated from West Seattle High School, and then went to work at Safeway as a meat cutter for a few years. After that he was the Owner of West Transfer Company for many years. He coached his son's baseball team for many years with Richmond Little League. He loved working in his vegetable and rose garden, and tending to his many fuchsia baskets and dahlias. He loved sharing his vegetables and beautiful flowers with other people. He loved fishing and wanted to take one last fishing trip to Alaska. He loved having family over to celebrate the holidays at his home every year.

Funeral services will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 1:00PM.

Burial following at Holyrood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
