Richard “Dick” Emmett Dodson, 92, of New Bern, NC, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Carolina East Medical Center.
His funeral will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Charleene Pierce Guieder officiating. Interment to follow at the Greenleaf Memorial Park with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites.
Richard was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corp. after 20 years of service. He was a member of the St. John’s Masonic Lodge #3, AF & AM, and the New Bern, York Rite. He was a member of the Sudan Temple, past member and Captain of the Sudan Mini Cars, a member and past president of the New Bern Shrine Club, a member of the Sudan Chef Crew, a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebonan and a member of Jesters Court 145 as well a member of the New Bern Elks Lodge #764.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann Dodson; mother, Mary Grant O’Nell; and father, Willard Dodson.
Family will receive friends from 6:30 – 7:30 on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
