Mr. Donald D. DeWitt, 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday January 6, 2017 at Golden Living Center-Countryside in LaPorte, IN. He was born July 24, 1939 in Indiana, the son of Barney Dewitt and Ethel (Cody) DeWitt.

Donald was a machinist for Berkel Corp. for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsbury. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the PRCU He was an avid movie collector and loved working in the garden.

On March 10, 1963, in Omaha, NE, he married Reva Carlson DeWitt who preceded in death May 8, 2003.

He is survived by his four sons, Rick (Chris) DeWitt, Donnie DeWitt, Jimmy (Lynn) DeWitt, Ty DeWitt; three daughters, Teresa (Kevin) Prast, Sherri (George) Wilson, Vickie (Bruce) Underwood; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Pickins, Judy Pontius; two brothers, Robert Towers, and Jimmy Reeves.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Norm DeWitt.
