Horace Burr was born shortly after the marriage and the small family moved south to Scott, Cortland County, New York, soon after. They added five more children to the group during that time: Alvin, Mary Ann, Elmira, Ruth Maria, and Orin.
The Burr family's second to last large move was to Ripley County, Indiana. It was there that all of his children married and traveled to various parts of the Midwest.
His final move took Zeruah, Orin, and himself to Henderson County, Illinois where he spent the rest of this days as a widower after Zeruah passed in Sarpy County, Nebraska in 1867.
