John W.Carey
A well known residant of this city,died at his home on Jefferson Street this morning about 7 O'Clock.
Mr.Carey had been sick with Stomach Trouble for the past several weeks,but was improving.This morning he was sitting up in his chair eating his breakfast when he was suddenly stricken with pain over his heart and died almost innedintely.
Death was due from the bursting of a blood vessel near the heart.The deseased was past seventy years of age and was born in Turtlecreek towmship,September 15,1833.He had resided in Shelby County all his life and had been a resident of Sidney for many years.
For the past few years if his life he was engaged in the coal oil busisness and was known to almost every one as "Coal Oil Johnny," he was married twice and was the father of ten children.all of whom are living.His second wife to whom he married seventeen years ago last September was Mrs,Lydia Werst,who survives him.The funeral service will be held at his home Friday afternoon at 2 O'Clock
