Dean Foster, 84, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 27, 2006, at his residence.

He was born February 6, 1922, in Chanute, Kansas, the only child of Fred R. Foster and Lillian G. (Funstein) Foster.

Dean was united in marriage to Iota Mae Brown on February 8, 1948 in Chanute, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2005.

He was a World War II veteran.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, American Legion, VFW, and the BPOE (Elks Lodge).

He is survived by two daughters, Marcia Foster of Seattle, WA, and Susan Sadowsky of Overland Park, KS; and one grandson, Josh Newell of Newton, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iota; and a son-in-law, Roger Newell.

Funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be October 31, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas.
