Terry Lee Pittman, 68 years of age, of Adams passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln from complications due to Agent Orange exposure. He was born on August 25, 1948 in Lincoln to Bob and Betty (Sugden) Pittman. He was a graduate of Adams High School and received a BA degree in Missouri. Terry served his country in the United States Navy from March 14, 1967 until June 27, 1975. He was as independent fuel salesman for AvFuel Corp, and moved back to Adams from McComb, Mississippi. Terry and LaVon Behrens were married in 2009. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adams, and the Adams VFW Club.
Survivors include his wife LaVon Behrens Pittman; daughters Melissa Pittman Hoff (Todd) of Lewisville, TX, and CW3 Carrie Pittman of Lincoln, NE; stepsons Spencer Behrens (April), Marshall Behrens (Steph), and Grant Behrens (Megan); grandchildren Sara and Emma Smith of Lewisville; Devin, Ciara, Caleigh, Camden, Cale, Max, Rowan, and Elleson Behrens, with 2 new grandchildren expected in 2017; sister Cheryl Babcock Williams (John) of Coral Springs, FL; nephew Chad Babcock (Jenny) of Olathe, KS; and a niece Heather Babcock of Los Angeles, CA; and his family from McComb Juanita Boggs and children Mike, Garilyn, Kathy and families.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Betty (Sugden) Pittman; Mother of Missy & Carrie, Mary Jane; and best friend Gary Boggs of McComb.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Adams with Reverend Rob Clark officiating. Private family burial of his ashes will be at 9:45 AM Saturday at the Highland Cemetery in Adams with full military honors provided by the Adams American Legion and VFW. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial has been established to the Adams Rescue Squad with Orvin Miller and Rodney Buss in charge.
